“AeroFarms is on a mission to transform agriculture by building and operating environmentally responsible farms throughout the world to enable local production at scale and nourish our communities with safe, nutritious, and delicious food. We have been charting a course toward a new standard for totally-controlled agriculture since 2004. We disrupt traditional supply chains by building farms on major distribution routes and near population centers. We defy traditional growing seasons by enabling local farming at commercial scale all-year round. We set a new standard for traceability by managing our greens from seed to package. And we do it all while using 95% less water than field farmed-food and with yields 130 times higher per square foot annually.”
Three engineers came together at the Yes! Delft incubator, the largest high-tech incubator in Europe, to design the Bursha pump. This pump was built to allow Nepalese communities to pump water up the mountains without fuel. Today they have more than 40 pumps, running in multiple countries including Nepal, Indonesia, Spain, Turkey, and Zambia.
HydroBio uses remote sensing technology to develop “smart” integrated agricultural irrigation systems. “We believe it’s possible to produce more crops with less water creating added value for the whole industry. Our current customers use 1.5 trillion gallons of water and our goal is to make every drop of water the most effective drop that it can be.”
“Being unsatisfied with the current situation of production and distribution of fresh vegetables, we want to offer the opportunity of efficient plant production to health-conscious metropolitans and professionals regardless of their living space or know-how. We imagine a future where automated greenhouses in your home are as common as fridges are today.”
